Ankati started practicing yoga at 19, when her long distance running pursuits rendered her barely able to walk with knee injuries. The practice soon rooted deeply into her heart, transforming how she related to her body, breath, and self-confidence.

Ankati began her studies in Astanga Yoga, branching out into Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, AcroYoga, and eventually Forrest, Therapeutic, and most recently Buti Yoga. Her passion for teaching took her to Costa Rica, where she became certified and spent two years supporting her teachers in their trainings and providing daily classes for travelers. Now back in the Seacoast where she grew up, she is sharing a creative and unique style of yoga that fuses strength building asana with therapeutic flow and breathwork. Every class is infused with a sense of playful lightness and exploration, both of the physical and mental/emotional levels of the practice.

“I learned that I could be both wild and holy.” -Ana Forrest
