Jolie Yonker

Practicing since 2001
Teaching Style: Ashtanga influenced

Jolie’s classes are athletic and strongly influenced by her love of the Ashtanga Yoga tradition. She teaches in a way that maintains the integrity of the traditional practice while keeping it relevant for modern day yogis.

Through intelligent sequencing and a solid understanding of movement, Jolie helps her students connect with their bodies so they can not only move with more ease, but also continue to practice for years to come. As a marathoner, Jolie recognized that the more consistent her yoga practice was, the incidents of injury became practically non-existent. By combining her extensive yoga knowledge with a deep background in fitness, Jolie is equally adept at working with all-around athletes as she is working with beginner and longtime yoga students. Her teaching style is well-informed, down-to-earth and playful, making her classes both empowering and welcoming to practitioners of all abilities.

Jolie became a dedicated Ashtanga yoga practitioner in 2001 and has since become a certified instructor. She continues to expand her practice by attending a variety of classes, workshops and trainings and is a regular Ashtanga Yoga Confluence attendee. Beyond Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training with David Swenson and Shelley Washington, Jolie has also learned from some of the world’s foremost yoga teachers, including but not limited to Beryl Bender-Birch, Eddie Stern, Tim Miller, Richard Freeman, Manju Jois, Jason Crandell, Tiffany Cruikshank and Noah Maze. She lives in the Seacoast with her husband and daughter and their bouncy Boxer, Bodhi.
